Overview
SOS Children’s Villages Somalia, affiliated with the international network SOS Children’s Villages, is seeking a translator to localize key HR policies from English to Somali. This initiative aims to enhance staff understanding and adherence to these policies, improving compliance and operational efficiency across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Translation & Proofreading: Accurately translate key organizational documents and proofread for clarity, including but not limited to:
- Code of Conduct
- Sexual Exploitation and Abuse and Harassment Policy
- Child and Youth Safeguarding Policy
- HR Terms and Conditions
- Value-Based Conduct
- Misconduct Incident Management Regulation
- Safer Recruitment Guideline
- Learning and Development Guideline
- Review and Finalization: Collaborate with the HR team to review drafts and finalize documents.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the translation maintains the integrity and meaning of the original text.
Requirements
- Education: Master’s degree in Linguistics, Social Science, Business, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 3-5 years of professional translation experience, especially with organizational policies.
- Skills: Proficiency in both English and Somali, strong analytical and organizational skills, and familiarity with technical HR terminology.
- Knowledge: Understanding of Somali labor laws and cultural context.
Deliverables
- Complete and accurate translations of HR policies in both digital and printed forms, ready for internal use.
Compensation
Payment will be issued in two phases: 50% after the first batch of documents is completed and 50% upon project completion.
Conditions
- The translator will work remotely and must provide their own computer.
- The translator will sign and adhere to the SOS CV Somalia Child Safeguarding Policy and other relevant security procedures.
Intellectual Property
All translated documents will remain the sole property of SOS CV Somalia.
