Your Role
As the Health & Nutrition Program Manager, you’ll oversee the development, planning, and implementation of our Health & Nutrition program in Somalia. Your leadership will help achieve our goals and expand our initiatives to improve child survival and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Development: Lead and support sectoral analysis and planning. Formulate goals and strategies, ensuring alignment with national priorities.
- Integration & Innovation: Develop integrated health strategies with other UNICEF sectors. Promote community participation and innovative approaches.
- Technical Support: Provide technical guidance to government and non-government partners, enhancing their capacity.
- Monitoring & Evaluation: Establish systems to monitor and evaluate program performance. Conduct field visits and reviews to ensure effectiveness.
- Leadership: Manage and develop a team to achieve program objectives. Oversee the development and implementation of work plans.
- Capacity Building: Organize training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
- Financial Management: Ensure accountability for funds and supplies, monitoring disbursements and optimizing resource use.
- Partnerships: Build and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders for program advocacy and implementation.
- Information Management: Implement integrated monitoring systems and provide relevant data for program improvement.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit timely program reports, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
- Emergency Response: Participate in emergency preparedness and response activities.
- Other Duties: Handle additional responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Public Health, Nutrition, or related fields.
- 8+ years of experience in health and nutrition program management.
- Experience in a managerial or technical role.
- Work experience in developing countries and emergency settings is a plus.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
